SC Community:

We recently became aware that PowerSchool, a cloud-based software provider for our district, was impacted by a cybersecurity incident. We are working with PowerSchool to investigate the incident and its impact on South Callaway. In this situation, only PowerSchool maintains the necessary access and visibility into its network to conduct a complete and thorough investigation. As such, our ability to conduct an independent investigation has been substantially limited.  Nevertheless, PowerSchool’s investigation and response efforts are ongoing, and we are working with PowerSchool to ensure that those individuals who may require notice of this incident by law are properly notified.

The district has allowed PowerSchool to provide notice to potentially affected individuals.  PowerSchool has not yet confirmed when they will email their notices. In the meantime, PowerSchool is offering complimentary credit monitoring.
